This 110 sq.m. one-story residential project, located adjacent to the parental home, is simultaneously designed for couples seeking connection and independence. The layout responds to the brief by blending traditional architectural elements with contemporary living while accommodating the constraints of a compact site. The plan includes two private bedrooms, each tailored to individual preferences. K. Pawaret’s room emphasizes cross-ventilation and natural airflow. K. Anothai’s room prioritizes filtered daylight and reduced dust, with a sliding partition linking the bedroom and ensuite to create a flexible, open layout. The open-plan living and dining area extends into a front garden through folding doors, establishing a strong visual and physical connection with the outdoors. A sliding partition enhances adaptability, transforming the space into a workspace. Varied ceiling heights across different rooms introduce spatial rhythm and a sense of depth. Architectural references to the existing family home—such as gable roofs, arched openings, and traditional proportions—are reinterpreted in a clean, white palette. Warmth and texture are brought in through reclaimed teak windows and SPC wood-pattern flooring, grounding the modern interior in tactile material.
